Orbys in line for top outsourcing accolades
Orbys Consulting has been short listed for two prestigious National Outsourcing Association Awards
September 26 2006 - Leading sourcing advisory consultancy, Orbys Consulting, has been short listed for two awards at the National Outsourcing Association (NOA) Awards for Best Practice in Outsourcing, taking place on the 12th October. The sourcing specialist has been short listed in two categories, ‘Outsourcing Adviser of the Year’ and ‘Public Sector Outsourcing Project of the Year’.
The Awards, now in their third year, have become recognised as one of the most coveted prizes in recognition of innovation within the outsourcing industry.
Orbys’ nomination for Public Sector Outsourcing Project of the Year comes following an innovative shared service delivery project with West Lindsey District Council in Lincolnshire. Orbys helped West Lindsey to negotiate an exit from a costly and inflexible outsourcing arrangement. It then helped to establish a framework for a shared service agreement between West Lindsey and neighbouring district North Kesteven.
Matthew Clarke, Business Transformation & Technology Manager comments, “The framework agreement Orbys put in place is unique. There are many relationships between local authorities, especially regarding joint procurement. But the creation of a service agreement that is truly reflective of commercial conditions is unique within local government.”
Clarke continues, “Over the past two years West Lindsey District Council has fundamentally changed its approach to service delivery. As a result we are transforming the council – from achieving the highest local tax collection rates in the council’s history to creating a flexible, responsive ICT infrastructure that can support innovation. Critically, the council has realised significant financial savings that are being reinvested to improve overall service delivery.”
Simon Lindley, Principal Consultant, Orbys Consulting, commented, “We have seen significant changes in the outsourcing marketplace over the last few years as organisations enter into second generation deals. Wholesale outsourcing projects with one major provider are no longer the accepted norm. Instead organisations both in the private and public sector and being more selective and demanding better, more personal service.
Lindley concludes, “Orbys has been at the centre of this change in the market and West Lindsey District Council is just one example of where Orbys has delivered real financial value and improved efficiency. As a company we are delighted to have been short listed by the NOA for these awards and look forward to the award ceremony.”
